Saying “Yes” to God means TRUST?

I had a dream the other night, and I was told, “You need to say yes to Jesus. I continued to lay there with my eyes closed, but fully aware that I was waking up from a dream. I was saying to myself, what am I saying yes to God? My mind began to have a debate with that thought saying, “you don’t need to know, just say yes”. As I lay there fully awake now, I started chanting, yes Jesus! I said this over and over, until I was interrupted by another thought that, “God I could be saying yes to anything, but I trust you”.

Wow, what a brave response! “I trust you”. This makes me think about Jesus, when he accepted (said yes) his assignment from the Father. As time got closer for the assignment to be fulfilled, no doubt his flesh (thoughts) began to have a debate with his spirit. At this point he was imagining what was about to take place. As he wrestled with his thoughts over and over, he chose to trust God.   Matthew 26: 38-42, says, Then he said to them, “My soul is very sorrowful, even to death; remain here, and watch with me.” And going a little farther he fell on his face and prayed, saying, “My Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as you will.” Again, for the second time, he went away and prayed, “My Father, if this cannot pass unless I drink it, your will be done.”

When we say yes to God, we have to trust that he’s going to take care of us. It’s hard and a struggle when we can’t see the outcome, but just as Jesus said, “not as I will, but as you will”. The struggle comes when we try to arrange how we want the assignment to work. God I said yes to do this, but I need things to go in this order. Okay? Just know that when we say yes, we are actually giving God permission to take the lead. As hard as it may be, our response should be, “I trust you Father”. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight” (Proverbs 3:5-6).
